Air conditioning for Town & Country

First of all, I don't know why you're asking me details about this purchase. I didn't select it. The service department did. Secondly, why should I give you a 5 on this product simply because I've been using it for only a week! Of course it works great. But will it last? Ask me for a rating a couple of years from now.

A/C compressor

This was a replacement compressor under the 1 year warranty as it only lasted 10 months and only 2 of them was warm weather enough to use the Air conditioning. The compressor itself did not fail, rather the clutch started slipping and got so hot it took out the bearing as well. There was no problems getting another one under warranty, so there is that.

Q: Does this compressor come pre-oiled?

A: While there is oil in the compressor, it is only “travel oil” to prevent rust and seize during storage and shipment. Installation will still require the use PAG oil as per the vehicle’s service manual.
