The filters work fine but the ring is a little loose and should be slightly smaller. I had to use extra rubber bands to keep it on.

Q: I have 4L Mastervac 054-0245-0. My reusable filter 054-0148 didn't need to foam filter with it. For these reusable dry filters can I use the foam 054-0151 that came with vac?

A: Yes, you havevto use a foam filter with them. As far as I know there is only one type of foam filter. The reuseabke dry filters work really well and wash up very easily - air dry fast too!

A: The 54-0148 Shop-Vac® Reusable Dry Filters with Mounting Ring is ideal for regular household cleaning of carpets and floors. For fine dust and Drywall applications a HEPA Cartridge Filter (54-0159) or High Efficiency Collector Filter Bag like the (54-0212) are recommended. Please see the label on the back of your tank for suggested filter sizes and types of filters available for your unit.

Q: I have a Mastervac 54-0297-6. 2HP, 10L and the cloth filter that surrounds the cage inside has a major hole. Will this filter (#054-0148-2) work w/ my unit? If not, which will?

A: I don't have this model, but I have something comparable from 20 years ago, the filter should fit. This comes with a rubber band, if that doesn't hold well, you can strap on a big tie-wrap, or could in series if not long enough.

Q: My mastervac 054-0225-0 dry filer 054-0148 did not require use with also with the foam filter like this saying. Since these need to be used also with foam filter, can I use the one that came vacuum; foam sleeve 054-0151?

A: About 14 months after I bought this vacum,it burnt out on me. So sorry,I cannot answer this question for you. I have a shop vac,which I always use the dry filter, with my foam sleeve,,unless I use it for Wet pickup.

Q: Looking for a reusable filter kit You sell 3 in a pak with the retainer ring. My computer says the local store has 29. After a 1/2 hour drive to the store they don't have even 1.

A: Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, this does not fit the Dura Vac #VP205. Yes you are correct, this model is designed to be used with the cloth filter without the foam for dry vacuuming. We recommend using the Durvac #VRC2, which will fit Dura Vac #VP205.

A: Sorry, Google to the rescue. These filters are washable, a number of times. "Eventually" they have to be replaced, but generally reusable. :)
