A/C refill gauge attachment

Had to fiddle around a bit with this gauge to make the self sealing cans of refrigerant work but saved me cash by limping thru the hot season without paying for expensive a/c repairs.

Poorly Designed, BREAKS EASILY

The knob broke very easily when the pressure needed to puncture the can was applied.
Hose is not long enough to be easily usable for most cars.
The meter to measure pressure is located in the wrong place, makes connecting hose difficult when reaching a couple inches down.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Hose too short

Used the Red Tek install kit and stop leak on a 2006 Smart car. At first I vented 2 cans into the atmosphere because the hose is too short to reach through the small access hole to properly fit on the low side port in a Smart car. I needed to fit the whole guage through the hole. Would have been so much easier if the hose was 4 inches longer.
Otherwise works as advertised.

Q: Topping up a 2008 gmc pickup w redtek refrigerant now comes w hole on can already have older gauge and valve that I used last year and it worked w the cans when u pierced the can won’t work w the new cans but store says it should. What am I doing wrong

A: Hi, with the new can you have there is a built in check valve. In order to make it flow with the older "T-Tap" hose you need to turn the tap at least 13 half turns or 6 1/2 full turns to push down on the valve. Once you do that it should start flowing immediately. Good luck and stay cool!

A: This hose is designed for use with RED TEK’s hand-held canisters, and will not fit onto a full-size R134a cylinder. We recommend product 25-6119-6 for recharging your A/C system if you are licensed to handle and install R134a. Anything outside the above would not be recommended.
