GREAT FUNCTIONING MACHINE...BUT important safety part not available....

This is a great machine that functions GREATLY and SAFELY...FOR A WHILE! I purchased this machine in May of 2023. After one year the "protection sheet" tore and lost a central section. OK, this is a expendable item. Not expected to last forever. HOWEVER, I have been trying to purchase a replacement part for over a year. They have been OUT OF STOCK FOR a year. This machine will eject chunks of wood at high velocity back out the input shoot. This is now a SERIOUS WORK PLACE HAZARD. I recommend you NOT purchase this machine until you purchase two of these protection sheet replacements. Then keep at least one in reserve.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great machine, lots of power and no issue chewing up 6 inch pieces. However shorter pieces will jam the blades, and the engine has enough power to keep going even though the blades are jammed. This damages the belt quite quickly if not noticed very quickly. I learned this the hard way and at the cost of buying a belt.

Works, but not the best design.

It's ok but there are a few design flaws.
If you load it across the whole 12" width of the chute, it dies off, doesn't have enough power.
This is my second piece of equipment with a Kohler engine and they are nice and gas efficient, but don't like to start in temperatures below freezing. Wrapping a battery blanket around the engine block for a few hours before using it helps.
There's no way to disengage the engine from the belt drive and chipper drum, like a clutch or such, so when you pull start it, you are cranking on the entire system. When it's all frozen, that's a heck of a pull.
Other than all that, when it is warmed up and runs, it chews up a lot of wood quickly.

I've run this machine pretty hard with no problems. I haven't run anything bigger than 4" through it but brush goes quickly. I've cleared and chipped 2+ acres of Serviceberry, Scrub Oak, and Pinyon with more to come.
