Soft metal and unable to put nutson.

These bolts were a1/4 ×20 thread count . I tried to put a nut on them and they would go on. I tried to use a drill and i twisted the bolt off. The bolt seemed like a very soft metal. I returned them for a refund and bought bolts at another store.
