I bought in on sale for $30.00, which made it less than half the price of any other ones its size. Its about 5 quarts, seasoned up really well and worked perfectly for cooking beans in the smoker.

We purchased this dutch oven for camping. It was excellent for cooking over an open wood fire. The lid even doubled as a shallow frying pan. 2-in-1! Great quality.

Very heavy cast iron. Good quality and the lid can be used as a separate pan. Hold heat well and should last forever if properly seasoned and maintained. Highly recommend, especially if on clearance.

A: Yes. You’d be hard-pressed to find unseasoned raw cast iron being sold on a shelf, the seasoning defends from rust so the first sign of humidity and they would all be rusted. In my opinion you will still want to add layers of seasoning as the factory one on any cast iron made in the last 30 years isn’t that strong.

Q: Does the lid have braising bumps on the inside? (Little bumps or spikes that aim downwards to allow the moisture to drip back down and baste the food).
