Excellent hut for the money

Bought this a couple,weeks ago and it is fantastic for price. The only thing I wish different was the windows not being so high. Name brand ones hav slower windows to see the tip ups outside. This one I have to crack a door to be able to see the tip up. I was all set to spend about $700 on an Eskimo one, I got this on sale for 350 and couldn’t happier with it for the price. Keeping the door cracked is a small price to pay to save 350

Very Happy With My New Hut!

I am new to ice fishing and having never set one of these up before it was amazingly easy. Just laid it out, pulled up the roof and then four sides, and we were ready to go! The anchors were very easy to put in as well. They screw into the ice and grab tightly, just like screwing something into wood. No need for the extra drill attachment you can buy for screwing these in. All doors, windows and zippers seem well made. Two of us were fishing with lots of room. Four would be pretty tight and would require thought into placement of your holes.

Q: Is this waterproof? Or is there a waterproofing spray that is recommended for this tent?

A: I bought this last year (2024) and had only used it once. My experience is this would be reasonably waterproof for winter use. Do not know if it comes right down to rainy weather. Woods is a decent brand at a fair price compared to the other major brands.

Q: Does this come with any ice anchors.

A: Yes, it has 8. We also bought an ice anchor tool bit to use with a drill to put them in the ice quickly. You can also use it to remove them. Hope that helps. Have fun.

Q: hello im happy to see good reviews on the fishing shelter. A question i have is this, is it possible to install a chimney jack on one of these shelters?

A: I’m sure it would be possible, you would have to sew the layers shut again after cutting before installing the chimney jack. Another option which I think would work much better is this tent has removable vinyl windows you could simply find some suitable fabric and just swap out a window for a piece with a stove jack installed instead and affix with the Velcro that’s used to keep windows in place.
