The kettle didn't shut off , so that was too unsafe for me, and only part of led lighting worked. ( Not that i cared about that. CANADIAN TIRE gave me a very hard time to return it, as Ai asked for my money back. They said it was used.. well don't you think that is stupid. I got my money back but with pulling teeth. NEVER AGAIN.

Auto shut off does not work.

I tried 2 of these from Canadian Tire but both have the same problem. The lid does not stay down properly so does not keep a good seal. Consequence is that the steam is not contained enough to trigger the auto shut off. Given all the similar complaints I didn't know why these remain on the shelves. Nice looking kettle otherwise. Shame.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Good evening. After purchasing a new Salton kettle, I encountered a problem right from the first use. The kettle doesn't shut off automatically. It continues to boil continuously, with increasing power, producing an excessive amount of steam.

A: Yes I have noticed that issue also. I believe it's a problem with the lid, it raises slightly when hot and doesn't stay shut so it won't turn off.
