Oreck DualMax® Air Purifier with Helios Shield®

I purchased one of these a year ago then another one after 6 months. They work great and it is amazing the stuff that they pull from the air in your house that is already filtered by the furnace filter. There is a plastic smell for maybe the first day or two when they are new but that goes away. Since we put these in the house nobody has been sick or had any issues with allergies. I run it on the medium setting and the noise is not noticeable. We have one in our masterbedroom and one in the living room as we have an old dog with a fair amount of dander. Very easy to clean and save a lot of money by not having to buy filters. I figured I would give it a year before reviewing this product and I am very happy with it. Makes your house smell fresh!

I purchased two of these...they are the best on the market...wash and go..no expensive filters and run quiet..

Curieusement, au moment où il devient possible d'acheter des pièces de rechange, Canadian Tire semble retirer ce produit puisqu'il est en liquidation de 270$ à 350$, selon le magasin sélectionné. Après presque quatre ans d'utilisation 24/7, j'ai dû changer la cellule et la grille avec fils de mon Dualmax. J'ai trouvé un fournisseur canadien (superiorvacuums.ca) de pièces (pas celui référé par CT) où il est possible d'acheter la cellule et la grille avec fils (20276-01) pour 126$ca taxes et transport compris. https://superiorvacuums.ca/collections/oreck/products/oreck-ep-air-purifier-cell-collector-air16-20276-01 La grille seulement (20285-01) semble disponible chez Oreck USA par téléphone (pour les canadiens) à 20$us + taxe et transport. Partage de petits trucs: Après nettoyage de la cellule, la lumière orange scintille rapidement. Votre cellule pourrait ne pas être totalement sèche. Appuyez et tenez le bouton "fan" enfoncé pour quelques secondes. L'appareil tombera en "dry mode" a vitesse médiane pour une heure et tentera de se réactiver seul. Si la lumière orange demeure allumée, Nettoyez tous les points de contacts électriques de la cellule (trois en dessous et deux près de la grille) ainsi que ceux de la grille (deux). Pour nettoyer, j'utilise ... points de contacts : nettoyeur à four grille avec fils : trempage dans le "fantastik". On touche pas aux fils ! cellule : trempage dans une chaudière en plastique avec du T.S.P. (Phosphate trisodique en poudre, au rayon de la peinture). A ne pas faire dans l'évier ! L'utilisation du T.S.P. peut réduire la durée de vie de la cellule. La mienne a fait tout de même près de quatre ans et elle était "nickel" après chaque nettoyage. Finalement, il est tellement efficace que je ne peux que le recommander encore.

I smoke in the house. I live in Montreal and will not smoke outside. I've owned a Honeywell for years and it does an ok job of cleaning out the smoke but the smell would remain and it was loud on med and high. This baby is so quiet i keep it on the corner of my dest and my ashtray is about 6" away in front of the intake fan. The smoke gets sucked right in and disappears, and this is on low. My Mac's fan makes more noise than this purifier. On medium i would say it's 2x as loud as my computer, which is very low. On high yes it gets loud but i've had much louder in the past. On medium though i can smoke like a rock star with my hot coffee in the morning and all i do is blow the smoke from 2 feet away into the intake part of the purifier (which is on one side of the purifier, the other side is the exhaust). The smoke all vanishes before your eyes. On high, i can smoke a pack of cigarettes and you would never know it an hour later. This thing is truly amazing! Buy it especially if you can save $200 like i did. I also reviewed the Air response which i also like a lot but this Dual max is just incredible, great job Oreck!
