Allows me to turn the Xmas lights on or off without going outside and can't be tampered with as there is no on/off switch other than the remote.

An ingenious product

Awesome! This product replaces a light sensor switch, that continually was malfunctioning because of home lights and the shadows of darkness. This remote switch, is a simple on and off that works well for an older senior from the warmth and comfort of her home. No need to go outside for this one. I would highly recommend this product. How ingenious.

Q: The users manual (under resources on this website) says the unit must be mounted facing down. Mine will be plugged into my outdoor outlet which is close to the ground. Does this mean it won’t work for me?

A: It is most likely to prevent rain from entering the outlets. As long as rain doesn't get inside it should work fine.

A: Not totally sure, but we have had ours outside every day since we got it (4 mths). The last few weeks have gone down to -21 to -23 with the wind. Not the same conditions as you, but we are really happy with it. (Newmarket, ON)

Q: Is there any way to reset or recalibrate the switch? No matter what I do now the red LED light stays on, as does the power to the AC outlets on the receiver. I can't switch it on or off with the remote and unplugging it doesn't seem to reset the receiver.

A: Please follow the recalibration instructions below: 1. Unplug the receiver from the power for a while, it can solve most of the issues. 2. Please ensure the pairing process has been done before using the remote. 3. When you unplug then plug the receiver back into the outlet, the red LED on the receiver will blink for 15 seconds. If no input during the 15 seconds, the red LED will turn OFF, the AC outlets on the receiver will turn off too.

Q: Pourquoi ca ne fonctionne plus? plus rien ne fonctionne, même si le voyant rouge s'allume sur le récepteur lorsque j'appuie sur ON mais mes appareils branchés (lampes) ne s'allument pas. Comment faire pour le reprogrammer même si le voyant rouge ne clignote pas.?

Q: Can this NOMA Product #52-8849-0 , be used in Rain, Snow, Summer without Covering it up? I just wondered if you have to cover it up from the weather or if it will fade in the sun because it's plastic?

A: Rain and snow - no problems there..worked fine throughout Fall and Winter...and so far in Spring 2015. I doubt that summer would be an issue - but will have to wait and see.
