loud fan never stops. Will die for no reason

2nd unit. 1st unit died. replaced with 2nd unit and like they say fan will run continuously and loud. running wattage varies. unit is not fused inside, so there is no protection like others talk about..

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good inverter. Great when on sale.

I got this on sale and its have tested and used it for about 60hrs now. Draws 6A no load, ran it at 1000w and it could handle it (only dropped to 108V). Ran a large newer fridge no problem. Very clean sine wave. Runs motorized things fine.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Motormaster pure sine inverter

Bought this inverter previously and now on clearance the older model the fan would run on thermal but this model the fan runs continually even when small loads are plugged in but on the plus side it works great and delivers clean power. There is a 1500 watt available now but this being on a reduced price makes it a great buy.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I have had this unit at my cabin for about 5 years for weekend use. I use it with 4- six volt batteries (12 volt system). Powers my fridge, lights, led tv and DVD player. All at the same time. good for all that for a couple hours. watch how much you use it and with a bit of help from my solar panels (240 watts total) I can go all weekend without the generator. You have to be aware of your system capacity and not expect miracles. Besides, it's your batteries that make the system. 6 volt (pair) is the only way to go. Only problem is it won't run my Keurig. That's why you have a propane stove right. It's a great little unit if you don't expect too much power. It's only 1000 watts. I would get the 1500 watt when this one dies but until then, very pleased.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 138 Questions

Q: What is the standby power consumption of this unit In an earlier post, someone indicated that this product consumes 2.15amps (almost 30 watts) when just turned on with no appliances plugged in. This seems incredibly high. Most other units are around .3amps (less than 4watts). Can this be confirmed?

    6 Answers

A: Mine is closer to 4-5 Watts. Definitely not 30W. Anyways you should turn it off completely using the remote when not in use. That way you keep your battery safe and sound and the load is ready when needed at the flick of a switch.

Q: if i put 14volts from a running engine it overloads the inverter why? and can it be fixed the inverter is mounted on a boat with 12volt system most alterators put out 13 to 14 volt the inverter i have is 1000w pure sine inverter and has never worked unless i run it of a battery not in the system and not being charged when in use

A: If you have a separate battery with a blocking diode between the starting battery and inverter battery you will not drain the starting battery when running too long also the diode will take the voltage down about 1 volt.

Q: if i have a 100 amp deep cycle batery will this power a 820w air conditioner i have a 100 amp battery and a solar pannel and this is this powerful enough to power and air conditioner or is te starting srge of the compressor to high

A: Check the wattage of the AC. If the normal power is above 800W, chances are it will not be able to work. Starting a motor is hard on the inverter, even for a fraction of a second. Also your battery and wires must be pretty full and new to be able to handle that kind of load. Maybe get two batts in parallel ultra close to the unit with huge wires and it might work. Get the smallest AC possible and buy fans!

    A: dans le manuel, il indique qu'il consomme 0.6 A lorsque l'onduleur est sous-tension et qu'aucune prise 110v n'est branché

Q: Can this run a portable car heater? Hi - my heater died in my 2001 Saab 9-5. As a quick and temporary fix, will this power the Pyroil Interior Heater Product #30-3409-0. It's 900 watts. Thanks!

    4 Answers

A: Not a good idea. 900W on max 1000W is too close to max, you'll need extra huge wires to power it and it will drain your battery in no time even while driving (the normal heat comes from the engine cooling system, not from electricity.) But a heating seat or make the repair!

Q: will this run a law mower Just woundering if anyone would happen to know if this unit can handle running a 8amp electric lawnmower???

    4 Answers

A: 8 amps x 120V = 960W. It is very very close to its limit. And the initial draw will be more than 1000W so the unit might refuse to work. I wouldn't do it. And even if it did work, you would need super huge wires from your batteries to the inverter. Batteries with an "s" because it wil drain them pretty quick. For that use, Pure Sine Wave is overkill. Get a 1500W ModSine and two or three good new batteries. Or get a gas lawnmower... you won't be the first!

Q: The 1st time I used it it ran for 45 minutes then beeped with red LED and code F05 in the display. I turned it off, checked everything and tried again. It ran for over an hour no errors. What does F05 mean and should I return the unit?

A: Good possibility an overload on the output wattage causing the unit to overheat.

Q: I wish to use that Inverter with your 3/4 HP Sump Pump, with PSC motor ? Can i? if not WHY? Thank you

A: An inverter with 2000W capacity or higher will suffice for this pump.

Q: maxamim tempature i have this inverter inside a greenhouse and it gets hot enough to hurt bad when u touch it is this safe and will it hurt the inverters

    3 Answers

A: Keep it as cool as possible. The hotter it gets, the lower its effectiveness. Put it outside, build a small wooden box, paint it white, fix it in on the "ceiling" so it's clear from the weather and plug some computer fans. It should not sit in direct sunlight and it should have the best ventilation it can. It should also be as close as possible to the 12V batt. Keep in mind that you lose 100 times more energy on a 10m-long wire on 12V than you do on 120V. Buy an extension for the 120V, not for the 12.

Q: can u chare another battery with it if i wanted to charge a battery pack like the 400w one with this so i could use it as mobile alternative energy could i do that or would it be a problem since its like chargeing a battery with a battery

    3 Answers

A: It's strange but it would work. If 120V is the only way to charge the 400W unit then go ahead but it you can charge it with 12V just swap whatever is charging your actual 12V setup with the inverter with your 400W pack.
