Juice Box I needed!

I purchased this to replace a battery for my led lantern. Great battery, had power charge, installed with ease! Using this battery is a very cost savings way to reuse an otherwise mint lantern! After installing I charged via the lantern for 8 hours and complete. I highly suggest to pop a few screws and do the same, replacement battery was just what I needed!
  • Lantern I replaced with my new battery! Let's light that up!

6v battery

Ive had these small batteries before..I use them on a back up camera that is on the back of my trailer. I solo camp and I don't have a second person to guide me into the campsites. They are a great little battery but the don't keep the power for long.

Questions

Q: Can this be used in a childs electric atv?

  • A: It depends on the size it takes but you'd have to check the old battery

Q: Would this work in a solar powered electric fencer? The existing battery is a 6 volt 4.0 amp just like this one.

  • A: I can't see why it wouldn't.  As long as your solar panels produce enough input to keep recharging the battery.  Assuming it was designed that way initially as part of the kit, you should be good to go.

Q: Can I use this battery to power my Striker 4 fish finder for my fishing kayak? Or is it too powerful?

1 Answer
  • A: This is a 6-volt battery - it will not work. The Striker 4 (and pretty much all fish finders) require a 12-volt battery. The minimum "size" (i.e. capacity) we would recommend for a fish finder is 7 Amp hours... so something like 010-2038 is very popular for such an application. There is no such thing as too powerful. (There is such a thing as not powerful enough.) Using a "bigger" (i.e. higher capacity) 12-volt SLA battery will give you more runtime. For example, 011-2040 is a 12 amp hour battery so that would provide about 70% more runtime than a 7 Ah battery.

Q: Can I hook-up two of the 010-2017-6 batteries together and use them to power a small 12V electric motor (also using an inverter)? Also may I inquire as to the weight of these batteries?

1 Answer
  • A: Certainly two of these batteries can be connected together in series to create a 12-volt bank. Whether or not this will suffice to power a small 12V electric motor depends on two things - how much power the motor needs at start-up and how long you need it to run. These batteries can provide a maximum of 67.5A for 5 seconds. Will that meet the surge (start up) requirement of your motor? As far as runtime, two of these batteries could provide, for example, 0.765A for 5 hours (before reaching 10.2V) or, for example, it can provide 4.5A for 1 hour (before reaching 9.6V). You will also need to assume about 10% losses in conversion from DC to AC (in your power inverter). Each battery weighs about 1.8 lbs.

Q: Is the overall dimension of 4" including the terminals protrusion. My existing battery measures 3 3/4" not including the terminals. The new battery must fit in the same space

1 Answer
  • A: This battery is 4" excluding the terminals. With the terminals, it measures about 4.17"

Q: does this come witha charger and if not where can i find one?

1 Answer
  • A: A charger is not included. For this size battery, I would recommend the NOCO Genius G750 (model 11-1925).
