The Mastercraft Basic Stud Finder eases the process of finding the edge of wood and metal studs in drywall while also detecting live AC wires. Two LED lights indicate stud detection while scanning, and a V-shaped notch allows for easy marking of the detected stud edges. This stud sensor is useful for a variety of projects, including home renovations, wall mountings or hanging artwork. Compact and portable, this stud finder is battery-operated for enhanced mobility.

This thing could not find stud even if there was no wall covering over top of the studs. I do not recommend this.

Q: do I have to continue to hold the button until it beeps or do I press it once then it's beeps and then make my way down the wall till it beeps, mark it and push button again or do I just keep moving it after I marked it?
