    Probably better-off getting a 1/2" socket set.

    Got this to use my old 3/8" drive socket set with my new 1/2" drive torque wrench. I ended-up breaking a 15mm deep socket when torquing down a head bolt. The new Mastercraft deep sockets are shorter and have thicker walls than the old Professional deep sockets and are probably stronger, but it's probably best to get the 1/2" drive socket you need for the high torque jobs, which is what I ended-up doing. So yes, this adapter is good, and the socket broke before this adapter did, and this adapter may be useful again in the future, but it's probably better to use the right socket for the drive, and not use an adapter.

    Q: Is this adapter can be used to 100 -150 ft-lbs torque application? I have a 1/2 drive torque wrench with 250 ft-lbs rating. However, the sockets I have are all 3/8 drive. Therefore, I want to use the adapter 1/2 to 3/8. The purpose is to tighten the wheel nut.

    • A: 100-150ft lbs is fine with this adapter.
