Not leak proof even when holding closed

Bought for salad dressing. When shaking the jar with the lid on it manages to leak even when tightly closed with a hand holding it closed. Very disappointed.

A: Since it is not specifically called out to be microwave safe, I would always assume it is not. On another site it is mentioned 'not intended for heat processing'.
