We’ve had this product for exactly one year and it’s not working. Everytime we turn it on it shuts off. You have to flip the switch three times in order to get it to even operate. Not impressed.

This model (KitchenAid 5.5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer 500W KSM55) is a solid and hefty stand mixer. When running there is no noticeable vibration (even at the highest speed setting) and at 500 W it is much quieter than I was expecting. For most people speed setting number 2 is about as fast as your going to need. While mixing one can have a normal conversation even at the highest stand mixer setting. It seems to hold up to it's solid build reputation and quality components, unless you end up with a lemon, most credit cards give an extended warranty. Anyway, the double recipe filled the bowl to just below the top of the beater, I was wishing the bowl had a built in pour lip but, that’s what ladles are for. Everything cleans up super easy. This model has a 500W motor which is perfect for mixing double batches of freshly milled flour. Speaking of, the milling (KGM) attachment will replace a counter top, decades old dedicated commercial mill. The Double (KDF7B) Flex Edge beater is a good to have tool. it scrapes the sides, allowing me to do other things while the mixer does exactly what I need it to do, without having to stop, manually scrap and restart, and repeat. One other item to purchase is the 7-quart (KSM70) bowl for my extra-extra large holiday baking recipes. Bottom line; this mixer has already saved me time and clearly certain other attachments (the pasta roller) will also save me time and perhaps cupboard and counter space. I bought this mixer on sale, definitely worth the price.

I bought it a month ago and used it thrice to bake a bread like pandesal,Spanish bread and ensaymada it really I’m from the Philippines and I miss all of those bread and this stand mixer helps me a lot to achieve the way I want so for me this product is a 100 percent worth buying. Good job kitchen aid.

I am so dissapointed in the quality of the bowl, the lift handle and the fact that you put a black cord on a white mixer. I haven't used it yet because I will be returning it. This isn't my first mixer my 6quart mixer lasted me over 20 years and it finally gave out. I was hoping to buy the 7quart but it is to expensive.
