Terrible product

All Globe Smart products I've owned have failed. Light bulbs, smart plugs, power bars. This was no different - worked for a year then one day *poof*, it just quits. At least this one was able to be connected while others I've purchased are garbage right out of the box. Trust the reviews! This isn't a case of user error. It's just junk.

won't pair to wifi

dont waste your money. I bought this for my indoor Christmas lights. it worked for the first season. when I tried to use it this year I cant get it into pairing mode to connect to my wifi. and you cant just manually turn the outlets on. it only works thru the app. I tried to get support but you need the model number which is not shown anywhere on the device.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Are Globe smart outlets designed to fail?

I bought this to replace one that failed (inexplicably stopped connecting with wifi) after 2 years. I would not have bought another Globe one but I already had a few other Globe smart outlets (one of which had also failed in the same way) and I had the software worked out to do what I wanted. Also I doubted that another brand would be any more reliable. I feel that even though Globe products are low end, they should work reliably for more than 2 years. Are Globe smart outlets junk, or designed to fail? If another one fails, I may replace the whole set of smart outlets with something more reliable, if such a thing exists.

Came with a short circuit, methinks!

Purchased this a month ago, plugged it in in our bedroom, using it for reading lamps and both sides of our adjustable bed. This let us turn our lights on and off via voice command. Within a couple of weeks, though, we'd wake up and the bed would be off (i.e. non-adjustable) and we would have to use Google to command it to turn back on. The lights would also turn off at random times. I checked the settings and found one that said, "If power fails, return to last setting (i.e., if the lights are on, if the power fails and then comes back, the lights will turn back on)." Activated that two days ago. The lights started going off and on seemingly randomly, though at different times of the day it would be horribly frequent - my wife counted thirty-one outages in five minutes and begged me to disconnect it because it obviously has a short-circuit somewhere that is causing it to deactivate! Not impressed with the product. Wouldn't advise buying another one from this manufacturer.
