Planned obsolescence

It was good when new, but other than filters, replacement parts are not available and the parts are cheaply made and will break. I am on my third pump and now there is a mystery leak where I am refilling the entire unit plus the reserve daily and there are puddles of water on the floor. It’s now in a tray circulating colored water so I can determine where the leak is. I will likely need to replace it, but I certainly won’t be buying another Aspen.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Our cats and dog loves drinking out of this fountain. I have a problem, can't find a replacement strainer that goes between the bowl and the motor. Last time I looked on your website it said it was out of stock. I don't see it listed anywhere now.

Haven’t had this water fountain a month and it’s already broken. The water won’t slide down, I’ve tried cleaning the filter, I’ve cleaned the water fountain and nothinng

We appreciate your feedback. From your description it is the pump that is not working as it should. To trouble shoot this issue, we recommend to clean your pump, and watering unit at least once a week.
Mineral build-up from tap water or water from other sources can damage the pump. If you have a hard water problem, bottle water is recommended for use. The pump may need occasional cleaning to remove build up, especially when using hard water. If debris is caught in the intake vents of the pump, disconnect the pump from any power sources and rinse the pump under clean running water. Check strainer and intake vents once a week for pet hair and debris.
Below are instructions on properly cleaning your pump:
-Unplug unit. Remove pump intake top cover.
-Use fingernail to pry open second cover up.
-Remove second cover.
-Remove impeller. (May need tweezers) as held in by magnetic force.
-Soak in solution of 2 parts vinegar & 1 part water for 2-3hours. Clean impeller tunnel with a cotton swab. Rinse well; re-assemble wet.
If after cleaning the pump and the pump is still not working, your pump may be defective. If that be the case, kindly contact consumerservices@petmate.com for further assistance.

You must refill the water in the reservoir as it gets low and then the pump provides a natural continuous flow of circulating filtered, oxygenated water to ensure that your dog or cat stays hydrated with a unique patented no splash water slide.
