It is exactly as shown in the photos. However, this is not a tension rod. When it says adjustable, it means the length may be increased/decreased. Not being a tension rod makes it quite a challenge to wedge between a window jam for curtains or between walls for a shower curtain. It must be adjusted to a fixed lenth

Q: Maximum product width? It's great that it is a tension mount, but how wide does it extend to? I have purchased tension rods before for a custom-sized kitchen window with no trim, just moulded concrete walls. Essential info to help with ordering!

A: The exact length should be written in the description of the product. I got the shorter and longer tension rods. Both are very frustrating to use! They’re extremely difficult to adjust alone and requires two persons job. One to hold the rod in place and other other to adjust the settings. The shorter ones don’t hold very well and often fall. If you want to put a curtain on the rod make sure the curtains aren’t heavy because the rods can’t support the heavy weight.
