Q: If the rain barrel is full will this divert downspout water to drain from downspout and not overflow barrel?

A: Yes with the diverter connected the water diverts to the downspout when the rain barrel is full. We disconnect in the winter (cap included in the kit) so that all water goes down the downspout and will reconnect when the temps are above freezing.

A: I inserted the two I bought into a 2.5" downspout as the instructions directed. They are both working great and fill my cube tank and drums beautifully.

Q: Hello. How does this diverter handle any debris ? Is there a way to clear it other than removing the entire inner piece? Thank you for your help

A: Unless you have gutter guards you will need to remove the inner piece. removing the inner piece for the winter allows the cleaning to be done at least once a year.

Q: Do you have to screw and unscrew the winter hole cover each winter, or does it simply cover the existing piece. I can't see myself doing this twice a year.

A: You would disconnect from the spout or the barrel and empty the barrel and store indoors for the winter.

A: Yes it should. I bought a similar version online but it didn't fit. This one worked perfectly. It doesn't fill the entire interior of the downspout, but it still did a great job filling our two rain barrels.

Q: My downspout measures 3''×3'' will this still work

A: The catchment piece that goes inside of the downspout measures 2" deep by 3" wide, so it will fit any downspout that has a 3" side to it. The diverter is rubber, so it should also accommodate 2 5/8" square downspouts as well.
