If your products are falling apart they shouldn't be put online for purchasing

The barrels I drove to 2.5 hrs to pick up were basically falling apart by the time I returned home, but they were a "I needed yesterday" item. Also thought they could have been sent on the truck to the Canadian Tire store closer to myself just as good customer service, but that in today's world is not a thing.

Q: Does the top pop off or does it need to be cut ?

A: A barrel head can be removed by loosening the hoops. Here is a YouTube video showing the technique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I93wcptnFtI Alternatively you can cut the head across the middle and it will fall out.

Q: After cutting top of the barrel will it hold dirt or do you have to line it with plastic?

A: If you are cutting off the top of the barrel and filling the whole barrel with dirt you will find that over time the barrel slats will start to bulge out. I prefer the pre cut half barrel planters .l have also bought them in full and have cut them in half .The whiskey barrels are usually charred by fire and that is resistant to decay. I will add a little more protection by spraying the inside of the barrel with the Canadian tire rubberized rocker guard

A: Yes they work great as rain barrels! If the barrels have dried out from sitting empty they will swell up when filled with water, making them water tight in 24-48 hrs.
