Works great

They installed pretty well. It has been a while since I "peened" anything. Luckily I had a ballpeen hammer in the boathouse from when I peened a drain plug into a boat into which I had installed a new transom. I'm still wondering how I am supposed to lock the oars in.

These horns are good

In my case, these will be used for emergency only (in event of engine breakdown|).
The shaft is 1/2 inch . My older boat had 5/8 inch sockets so the horns were a sloppy fit. I hunted around and found that is a common problem .... and that Seadog sell bushings (about $10) that fix that little problem.

Unnecessary final assembly step left to customers

They work fine but for some reason the pins are rivets that you have to hammer the end on to secure them (and when I did the pin bent). Why on earth do they not secure those pins in the factory?

A: Both images show same product one with pin in and one with pin out. The pin is removable to put the oar in.
