Q: Can this be used in a 2008 Ford Focus automatic?

A: Castrol always recommends following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended fluid for use in your specific application. This information can be found in the vehicles owner’s manual or by contacting the manufacturer directly. For a 2008 Ford Focus 2.0L 4-cyl, as per Castrol’s lubrication guide, automatic transmission fluid meeting Ford Mercon LV is required. The Castrol Transmax Dex/Merc ATF, formerly the Castrol Domestic Multi-Vehicle ATF, does not meet Ford Mercon LV requirements. It would not be recommended for use in this application. Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF is licensed and approved by Ford for Mercon LV. This would be the Castrol fluid recommended for use in this application.
