The electric fireplace works great. Customer service in Sylvan Lake was also great. They even went out to storage and brought in so I could just look at the wood colour not knowing I was going to even buy this one. Carol ( I believe) helped us out allot.

Purchase of electric fireplace was a disappointing experience. Spoke with a store rep regarding the offer of extra CT dollars with our purchase and was assured that yes we would get the additional points. When we paid for the fireplace (with Triangle Mastercard) I noticed the extra points were not there and was informed that the offer started the next day. Asked her to reverse the transaction and was informed that we would have to complete that at customer service (other end of building) as it was being loaded into the truck. Frustrated at this point, when told one thing then told another, reversing the transaction could not be done at the counter I was at. Was advised by the clerk to bring in my receipt the next day and things would be rectified.
Next day brought in receipt and explained what happened and I found the clerk rude and felt she was not listening to me. Just kept telling me that “it does not work that way” . Asked her to reverse the transaction and put it through today and just kept saying “it does not work that way” she went talked to her manager ( no idea how she explained it to her ) and came back with “no- does not work that way , the purchase would have to be made that day. I said well we would have had we been told that initially and before processing the transaction. She stood back from the counter the entire time not caring and or preferring not to engage in a conversation.
I felt that our purchase was not important enough and we were wasting her time.
I like Canadian tire overall but this transaction and the poor customer service experience has left me with concerns with future purchases. I have heard stories regarding this location regarding the rudeness when trying to return things and couldn’t imagine, but now I know it is true. Very disappointed.

Fireplace insert noise

Unit looks very nice. Unfortunately the fireplace insert makes a loud ticking noise when turned on so we can't use the feature.

A: The maximum load, on and in the console, is 36 kg/80 lbs. We do not recommend using the fireplace without all of its parts.

A: I don’t know but did you already assemble it? I bought one for my daughter and after that one for my family room and the sticker for the front of the unit was put on the back of the unit. I was not pleased.
