This isn't a mason jar that you can can things in or for hot water into!! it's best for dry goods and little terrariums... you can tell it's meant to be mostly decorative / for fry goods, because of the very thin cover. it's not a utility jar. it works perfectly fine if you use it for it''s intended purpose

the jar rim is very sharp on both that I purchased, and I sliced my arm open and cut my finger when I washed it before use.
