set timer multiple times, never goes off. got rid of packaging as did not expect an issue with such a basic item but this is useless. will try to return

Operating instructions: Always turn timer knob clockwise to the 55 minute mark and then turn counterclockwise to the desired minute mark to ensure a proper setting. The alarm will ring when the pointer passes the one minute mark and the timer will stop a “0”. Note: The mechanism will continue to tick for a few seconds after the bell rings.
