How to reduce condensation in a camping tent

5 STEPS

Avoid waking up in a damp tent on your camping adventures. Here are a few tricks to stay dry at night while camping in a tent.

STEP 1

Before setting up your tent, lay a tarp down on the ground

This separates yourself from the moisture

STEP 2

Pitch your tent so it vents

Align your windows and doors with the direction of the wind

STEP 3

Keep your rain fly open throughout the night

Only if Mother Nature permits!

STEP 4

If it’s raining, try to stretch your rain fly or clip it in a way that allows airflow between the tent and the fly.

STEP 5

Leave clothes and gear outside the tent and avoid setting up around tall grass

Tall grass may block ventilation from the mesh areas of your tent
