What features should I look for in a kids' tricycle?

The ideal features for safe and comfortable kid's tricycles are:

• A sturdy frame

• Wideset wheels

• EVA foam tires

• A basket or storage bin

• A removable canopy

• An adjustable seat

How should I choose a tricycle for a 3- or 4-year-old?

The best toddler tricycles are durable and aren't easily tipped over. If you want to find a trike that your child can enjoy for a few years, then look for one with an adjustable seat. Canadian Tire has an assortment of tricycles that adjust for growing children. You should also consider choosing a tricycle with quiet EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) foam tires. Your active toddler can ride for hours without making a lot of noise. These rubber-like tires are also known for having good traction, which is essential for overall safety.

What types of tricycles are best for an older child?

Many of the kids' tricycles available at Canadian Tire are designed for a wide age range from 1-5 years. Select trikes feature a frame decorated with a popular kids' theme. Your older child will love to pick a tricycle featuring their favourite characters from Disney or Marvel.
