What are sheet sanders good for?
Sheet sanders remove rough patches, scratches, or unevenness, from wood, metal, and other materials. Other uses include stripping old paint or varnish from surfaces, sanding between coats of paint and preparing surfaces for adhesives.

What is the difference between a sheet sander and an orbital sander?
An orbital sander features a round sanding pad that moves in a circular and random pattern making sanding scratches less noticeable and providing a smoother finish. Orbital sanders are more powerful and are ideal for sanding rough materials through multiple layers. On the other hand, a sheet sander has a rectangular sanding pad that moves in a linear motion, which makes it ideal for detailed work on flat surfaces, edges, and corners.
