What are the different types of twine?

The main types of twine include:

Butcher's twine is made of cotton and used to tie cuts of meat for roasting or cooking.

Parcel twine is very durable, often made from plastics and can be used to tie packages and make bundles.

Cotton twine is a medium strength twine made from natural fibres that's good for a wide range of projects, plus it's easy to knot.

Sisal twine is a low strength, multi-purpose twine made from natural fibres that's suitable for outdoor projects like gardening and lightweight hanging.

Jute twine is a medium strength twine made from natural fibres, most often used for gardening, crafts and general-purpose tying.

What is twine used for?

Twine is often used for a wide variety of tying and hanging jobs, since it's lightweight, easy to tie, resistant to sunlight, and biodegradable. Twine is used for cooking, gardening, crafts, and hobbies.

What is the difference between twine and string?

Twine is stronger than string because it's made with more strands of fibres, making it better for tying heavy bundles or packages, and ideal for gardening.
