How do rivets work?

Rivets work by fastening two objects to each other. The shank of the rivet is placed into overlapping holes in two separate workpieces. When a riveter tool is used, it expands the tip of the shank, which presses the items together and secures them in place.

How to use a rivet tool correctly?

You can use your rivet tool correctly by following the instruction manual included with your product. In most cases, once your rivet has been inserted, place the nozzle of your riveter over the rivet’s protruding mandrel. Then use the handles of your rivet tool to pull and break the mandrel.

How to remove rivets?

You can efficiently remove inserted rivets by using a power drill as a rivet removal tool. Use a twist drill bit to drill through the rivet’s center to dismantle it, leaving little to no cosmetic damage to your project pieces.
