How to use a stud finder?

These tools are very easy to use. After turning on your stud finder. Simply place it flat against the wall you’re trying to find a stud within. Then, slowly move the stud finder in a straight, horizontal line across the wall. Eventually, the sensors in the stud finder will indicate when a stud is found.

Can you find a stud without a stud finder?

Yes, studs can be relatively easy to find. You can use the light switches, electrical outlets and even windows as a starting point to guide you along the wall in your search for a stud. However, wall scanners can make the process faster and more efficient.
