What is wire fish tape?
Wire fish tape is a metal wire with a loop at the end that is used to pull wiring through conduits, studs, and holes in the wall, making it easy to install new wiring behind drywall.
How do you use wire fish tape?
First, you will need to unspool the fish tape and run it through the holes or conduit until a length is exposed at the other end. Then, making sure there’s no current flowing, strip the wire you'll use and tie it to the end of the fish tape, wrapping strands securely and tamping down the ends so there are no extending wires. Wrap the end of the wire and fish tape in electrical tape to prevent them from getting caught on obstructions, then slowly reel in the fish tape until the electrical wire appears. Unwrap and disconnect the wire from the fish tape, and it’s ready for connection.
