Are hose connectors universal?

While some connectors might seem to fit various hoses, they are generally not universal. With different sizes and types, having a securely fitting water hose connector is essential. We always recommended checking out the manufacturer’s guide for your water source before purchasing a connector.

What are common types of hose connectors?

Two of the most common types of connectors are threaded and quick-connect. For an extra seal, threaded connectors tightly screw the ends of two hoses together to prevent leaks. Quick-connect connectors are easy to attach, requiring a push together and a twist. While quick-connect is the more convenient of the two, threaded connectors are more secure.

What are garden hose fittings?

While a garden hose connector links two hoses together or links your hose to a water source, garden hose fittings allow you to customize and enhance the way your hose waters. Some of the most common types are:

While sizes can vary depending on your current set up, 3/4- inch and 5/8-inch are considered standard.
