What is a smart doorbell?

A smart doorbell is a high-tech variation of the doorbell that has a built-in camera and wireless internet connection so it can work with your smart home apps and devices. For example, in combination with a smart lock, you can see who's at the door in real time and unlock it to let them in. Some smart doorbells have 2-way audio so you can talk and listen to guests. Models with the best doorbell camera built-in can automatically take photos when someone comes to the door.

Can I install a smart doorbell myself?

You sure can. Wireless smart doorbells aren't too difficult to install, with much of the work involving setting up your apps and smart home to work with the doorbell. Wiring a smart doorbell to existing wires isn't too difficult either. Installation doesn't require many tools, typically you'll only need a screwdriver or electric drill.

Do all smart doorbells come with cameras?

Yes, all the smart doorbells we offer feature a built-in wireless door camera. You can use the camera feature to see who's been at the door recently or get a live view of who's at the door when the bell rings.
