How much does it cost to install air conditioning?

Installing a window air conditioner can cost you somewhere between 300-600 dollars. Portable air conditioners come hassle-free, and you can plug them in yourself at no extra installation costs.

What size air conditioner do I need for 2,000 square feet?

A common rule of thumb is that for cooling spaces, you need about 20 BTU of capacity for each square foot of space you're cooling. For 2,000 square feet, you'd need around 40,000 BTU of cooling capacity: either from a large central air conditioner or multiple window units.
