What is the purpose of a deep cycle battery?

Deep cycle batteries are used in applications that need continuous power for long periods of time. For example, deep cycle marine batteries are ideal for boats so they can provide reliable power to navigation devices, radios, lights, and more. The power needs for camping and motorhomes are different too. Deep cycle RV batteries are ideal for campers, RVs, and motorhomes because they power everything that requires electricity in the vehicle for sustained periods of time.

What is difference between deep cycle battery and regular?

Deep cycle batteries produce on-going and consistent levels of power, whereas regular lead-acid batteries (also known as starter batteries) create a burst of power at one time to get the car’s engine started, where the alternator takes over the power production afterwards.

What does deep cycle mean in batteries?

"Deep cycle" refers to the level of discharge. Deep-cycle batteries are designed to create steady power over long periods of time until they are 80% discharged, at which point they need to be recharged to complete the cycle.
