9-volt batteries are larger and heavier than AA batteries, but not by much. The average weight of a 9-volt battery is around 35 grams but may vary depending on the cell type. The standard dimensions of a 9-volt battery are 48mm tall, 25mm long, and 15mm wide, and typical 9-volt battery weight is about 34 grams, or 1.2 ounces.

What are 9-volt batteries used for?

9-volt batteries are most used in smoke detectors, but are also used in electronic toys, walkie-talkies, transistor radios, some medical devices, and small appliances.

How long do 9-volt batteries last on the shelf?

Alkaline batteries will last about 5 years, and lithium batteries up to 10, so a small pack of 9-volt batteries should be enough to keep your household going, unless you use them in a lot of gadgets.
